I think in cases like this, it's important to remember that things like this would be finite. Medical supplies in particular are not the easiest to come by, especially considering how there isn't actually a real hospital in the game — specific medications for particular medical conditions will likely be incredibly difficult to manage.
That being said, there's a particular mechanic for instances like this! The Aurora can and does freeze medical conditions or supernatural/fictional ailments, etc. that would make playing specific medical conditions characters have very difficult within the game's setting. I'd use one of my own characters as an example: Kieren requires a specific (and actually fictional) drug administered daily, otherwise he will return to a primal/rabid state as he helps his brain function. This was something I'd chose to freeze by the Aurora otherwise Kieren wouldn't have lasted 24 hours from his entry into the game.
This probably may be a more beneficial route for you, considering the realism of the setting and allowing you playability with your character.
