Is it safe to handwave characters being able to scrounge enough consumables for daily use of a medical device? In Freddie's case, I'm thinking of button batteries/disposable lancets/glucose test strips.

Also, ETA related: Can players assume/handwave characters are able to scrounge enough daily prescription medication for management of diseases/disorders? I'm thinking things like mood stabilizers for severe schizophrenia, diabetes medication, albuterol, etc.
