It was mentioned somewhere but I'm not sure where it was so I'll mention it again here. Characters can explore the Northern Edge Tower where Sharon was manning the lookout. It looks like the damage mentioned by Sharon in Sam's journal ended up being the cause of her death with the collapse of the tower following quake activity with The Flare. Her frozen remains can be found in the rubble/ruins of the tower.
The new Milton/Lakeside passage looks to be an old Fallout style shelter that became damage and ended up backing out onto a natural cave system. There's a few supplies remaining in the fallout shelter part of the system, left behind by the Forest Talkers, but not much. It does make one wonder if maybe there are other style shelters like this in the world — but there's no way in finding them, as they could be anywhere.
With the dam, the most notable thing is that there's no access to the lower dam. The door is jammed shut and it's suspected to be flooded with almost frozen water, with the dam having suffered some damage with the quakes. The lower dam will play a part in due course with Interloper's gaining access to Silverpoint, so I don't want to give away too much.
